John Alcott (November 27, 1930 - July 28, 1986) was an English cinematographer that first worked with Stanley Kubrick when he took over lighting and camera operating duties mid-way through shooting on 2001: A Space Odyssey. After that, they collaborated on A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon and The Shining.

Alcott perished from a heart attack in 1986, ending one of the most celebrated duos in in cinema history. Alcott's camera operator, Douglas Milsome took over director of photography duties on Full Metal Jacket.
